FROZEN FRONTIER - BRANDYWINE, WHISTLER
“Frozen Frontier” – Above Brandywine
It’s not every day you find yourself staring out over the untouched expanse of the Brandywine backcountry under a perfect bluebird sky.
Captured near the heli drop zone in March 2025, Frozen Frontier reflects a rare moment of stillness in a place known for action. For over three decades, Brandywine has been the heartbeat of backcountry snowboarding in British Columbia — a proving ground where legends are made, tricks are pushed, and cinematic history is written. From film crews to freeriders, its ridgelines and bowls have shaped the culture of snowboarding, shot by shot, turn by turn.
But this image isn’t about the motion. It’s about the pause.
On this particular day, after a session of sled laps with long time friend Mat Galina, Olliepop’s founder and veteran snow cinematographer Jeremy Richardson took a moment to simply stop. Perched on his snowmobile, gazing out across the endless spines and valleys, he let the view wash over him — the quiet, the clarity, the sheer presence of a place that has given so much to so many.
Frozen Frontier is a tribute to that perspective. A reminder that beyond the drops, the slashes, and the speed — the backcountry holds space for reflection. For reverence. For stillness in the frontier.
At Olliepop we believe in keeping moments magical, with this in mind all photographic prints are limited to 100 pieces.
